Finding the right therapist for your teen shouldn’t feel like guesswork.

Therapy Compass helps parents of teens navigate the overwhelming process of finding the right therapist so their teen gets the support they need.

Work with a licensed clinical consultant to get clarity, direction, and a personalized plan so you can move forward with confidence.

Your teen needs help but you’re not sure what to do next

So you start searching.

Reaching out to friends and family for referrals.
Scrolling through directories of hundreds of therapists.
Reading profiles filled with unfamiliar approaches - trying to make sense of what might actually help.

You schedule a consultation, hoping it might be a fit.
And when it’s not, you’re left starting over without any more clarity or direction.

You encourage your teen to give it a chance…
but they resist, shut down, or say they don’t want to go back and
you’re left unsure what to do next.

The truth is, this trial-and-error approach is what most families fall into.
But it can take months to find the right fit and your teen needs support now.

WHY PARENTS USE THERAPY COMPASS

Parents often reach out because they want:

Clarity Before they Commit

Instead of guessing, you gain a clear understanding of what your teen actually needs - whether that’s a specific therapeutic approach, level of care, or type of provider.

A Better Chance at the Right Fit

Therapy is only effective if your teen is willing to engage.
By understanding both your perspective and your teen’s, we identify therapists they are far more likely to connect with from the start.

To Avoid the Cost of Trial and Error

Many families already know how much time, money, and emotional energy is lost trying multiple therapists. The Therapy Compass Process is designed to help you get it right the first time.

Guidance from a Clinician Who Knows the System

With over a decade of experience working with teens and across different levels of care, I understand the therapeutic landscape and can guide you in making the best decision for your family.

Support Through the Process

You’re not left to navigate next steps alone.
From choosing a therapist to evaluating fit, you have guidance every step of the way.

This is for you if…

  • You know your teen needs support, but aren’t sure where to start

  • You’ve tried therapy before and it didn’t feel like the right fit

  • You don’t want to waste time guessing or starting over

  • Your teen is resistant, and you’re unsure how to move forward

  • You want to get this right the first time

If you still aren’t sure if this is for you or if you have questions, schedule a 15-minute Fit Consultation and get answers.

A Better Way to Find the Right Therapist

Therapy Compass helps parents avoid the trial-and-error of finding a therapist by guiding them toward the right type of therapy and carefully matched clinicians. My goal is to help your teen connect with the right support from the start.

Instead of guessing or relying on vague recommendations, I help you:

  1. Clarify what your teen actually needs from therapy

  2. Understand which approaches and trainings will matter most

  3. Choose a therapist with confidence and clarity

Avoid costly trial-and-error.

Get Clarity and Direction.

Get support that leads to meaningful change.

How It Works: The Therapy Compass Process

I use a structured process designed to help families identify the right therapeutic support and connect with clinicians who are the strongest fit.

  • Step 1: Parent Strategy Session (90 minutes)
We begin with a focused, 90-minute consultation to understand your teen’s situation in depth. We will go over:

    • what you’re seeing

    • what’s been tried

    • where things feel stuck.

From this, we identify the type of support your teen actually needs (not just “therapy,” but the right modality, level of care, and approach).

  • Step 2: Teen Insight Session (1-on-1)
I then meet individually with your teen to understand their perspective, personality, and readiness for change.
This step is essential in identifying the type of therapist and approach they are most likely to engage with.

If your teen is not on board with therapy (not uncommon), this conversation can still be really important to answer any questions they have and provide them with as much choice as possible.

  • Step 3: Personalized Recommendations & Matching Plan

Following these sessions, I’ll provide a clear, personalized plan to you and your teen that outlines:

    • The specific type of therapy your teen needs

    • The therapeutic approaches most likely to be effective

    • 2–3 carefully selected therapist recommendations aligned with your teen’s needs and personality

We’ll also walk through how to evaluate fit, what questions to ask, and what red flags to be watching out for.

  • Step 4: Ongoing Support & Adjustment (Optional)

I remain available to support you and your teen as therapy begins - helping you assess fit, navigate any challenges, and make adjustments if needed.

Why Work With Me

When your teen is struggling, it can be incredibly hard to know where to turn.

Many parents begin searching for therapy hoping to find the right help quickly, only to discover how confusing the process can be. Different therapists use different approaches, and it’s often unclear what will actually help your child.

As a licensed clinician with over a decade of experience in mental health and working with teens, I understand how therapy works - and why it sometimes doesn’t. I help parents bridge the gap between what their teen needs, and what therapists are actually trained to offer, so families aren’t left guessing or navigating the process through trial and error.

Not all therapists are the same, just as not all doctors are the same. Finding the right fit - both clinically and personality - can make a profound difference in whether therapy is helpful for your teen. I created Therapy Compass to guide families through this process.

I don’t receive referral fees. My role is to help you understand your options, offer professional guidance on the type of support that may help your teen most, and connect you with vetted clinicians who are the strongest fit.

You shouldn’t have to spend months feeling uncertain about whether your making the right decision for your child.

Therapy Compass exists so families can move forward with clarity and confidence when it matters most.
